About
Hello! My name is Marta. I studied and worked as a psychologist for a few years and then decided to go after a more creative way of life. I taught myself how to sew and ran a small kids clothing business for a couple of years, but ended up fascinated about pattern making. Finally I took a professional patternmaking and sewing course at MODATEX (Porto – Portugal) which lead me to TRAMA patternstudio.
And this is my inspirational team, the ones who support me through this life of changes and uncertainty and that make me want to do, and be, better everyday.
Slow Fashion - The Dream
I believe that sewing our own wardrobe reduces our footprint on the planet. When sewing, we tend to upcycle old pieces of clothing that otherwise would end up on the trash bin, we pick up fabric leftovers from the fabric shop, we have a greater control of the source and materials of our clothes, and go for more eco-sustainable choices.
My purpose is to help curate an essential set of simple and uncomplicated pieces, with minimalist lines, which adapt to different times and contexts.
